1. Plan procurement of materials for projects
2. Select the vendor based on quality and price
3. Isuue Purchase Order for required materials
4. Review Purchase Order
5. Monitor non?receipt of materials against pending Purchase Orders
6. Follow?up suppliers to quicken the delivery of materials
7. Procure materials at economic prices
8. Co?ordinate with Accounts department for timely payment to suppliers
9. Evaluate quality of received materials
10. Evaluate vendors based on the materials received
11. Develop effective vendor base and have good rapport with the suppliers
12. Ensure continuity of supply of materials to project sites
13. Manage Inventory
14. Receive incoming goods
15. Check that goods are backed by consignment notes
16. Match goods with purchase order quantity
17. Inspect the quality of materials
18. Unload accepted materials in the store/godown
19.Store and preserve the materials for safe keeping till they are used for the concerned projects
20. Return rejected materials to vendors
21. Make proper entries for the accepted materials in the Stores Record
22. Allot storage locations for easy identification of materials
23. Maintain smooth and regular flow of materials to the project site
24. Keep accurate count of materials in storage
25. Identify surplus materials and arrange for disposal of surplus materials
26. Check stocks, review differences & take corrective actions
27. Arrange adequate security for costly materials
28.Arrange adequate preservation of chemicals & evaporating items
29. Arrange fencing & stacking of materials in open yard
30. Provide inventory status for management review
31. Participate in management meetings and take necessary actions in respect of all matters relating to inventory management
32. Manage activities of customs/central excise
